The Silent Majority

We are the exhausted majority. For too long, the narrative of our country has been hijacked by the loudest, most extreme voices in the room. We are constantly told that America is hopelessly divided, that our neighbors are our enemies, and that the only way to participate in our democracy is to engage in constant, bitter warfare.
 

We don't buy it. And we are done being quiet about it.
 

Common Thread is not a political party, a lobbying group, or a corporation. We are a decentralized movement of everyday citizens who are simply tired of the performative outrage that is crippling our country’s ability to function.
 

Who We Are

There is no single "type" of person behind this movement. We are white-collar professionals and blue-collar workers. We are old and young. We are mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters. We are veterans and we are draft dodgers.  We are from different races, creeds, religions, ethnic groups, sexual orientations, and other categories.  We are a rich tapestry of unique people woven together by a shared belief that the values in American democracy are worth preserving.  
 

What unites this incredibly diverse group is not a shared voting record, but a shared standard of behavior. We believe that our differences, our varied lived experiences, and our fiercely held opinions are the lifeblood of a healthy democracy. We do not want a country where everyone thinks exactly the same way.
 

However, we refuse to let those differences be weaponized against us. We are committed to building understanding, finding our shared values, and rolling up our sleeves to address the massive, common problems we face. We are doing this because we have a responsibility to leave a functional, thriving country and a bright future for our children, rather than a fractured society defined by gridlock.
 

Our Guarantee

Because modern politics is so often driven by profit and manipulation, we want to be perfectly clear about what we are not:

 

• We do not want your money. We do not accept donations, we have no wealthy benefactors, and we do not build fundraising lists. Every physical symbol of this movement is sold strictly at cost.

• We do not support a political party. We do not endorse candidates or legislation. We are entirely non-partisan. We care about how you argue for your beliefs, not what those beliefs are.
   

The Call to Action

It is time to send a definitive message to the media algorithms and the policymakers in Washington: We are tired of the fighting. We will no longer reward politicians who prioritize polarization, grandstanding, and tribal warfare over actual problem-solving. We have your back when you choose to break ranks, vote your conscience, and work across the aisle for the good of the people.
